Granddad is a band from Alaska. Does that sound as surprising to everybody else as it does to me? When I think of Alaska, I think of terrible TV shows like Yukon Men and an older woman that I know from work that I absolutely adore, but I never think of music, especially music that I really enjoy, coming from the 49th state. Being from a state that I assume to be out of touch with, well, everything hasn’t stopped Granddad from capturing all of the pent up angst and nervous energy that has become a staple of this current wave of new Emo bands. Granddad is going to be self-releasing a new EP called ‘Dumped’ on August 15th, and we couldn’t be more excited to be streaming the whole thing for you guys a few days early! The music is on ‘Dumped’ is jangly and jammy at all of the right times and is a perfect new addition to the catalogs of fans of Big Awesome, The Obsessives, and the like. You’ll be able to download ‘Dumped’ here on August 15th, but you can stream the record in full after the cut.
