Chris Swartz Brings Us On a Journey of Catharsis with “Texas” Music Video
The first thing that I ever posted to this website was a review of the pre-Pure Noise release of the debut album from Speak Low If You Speak Love. That’s the kind of acoustic record that I’m quick to fall in love with — something full of heart that doesn’t fall into the tropes of the genre its bound too. Chris Swartz is onto something similar, albeit in a way that is more reminiscent of Northbound that Speak Low. Swartz refuses to swap moments of hurt and aggression for something softer just because they’re coming from behind an acoustic guitar — instead choosing to let the duality of the music and vocals pull you into a universe all his own. He’s gearing up to release a new EP called Slander on February 3rd, which saw Citizen’s Mat Kerekes as a producer, which is full of unrelenting emotion and powerful delivery.
Below, you’ll find bare-bones beauty of the music video for a brand new song called “Texas.”
